The Gallipoli Cup and what it’s all about

CMC are excited to announce our Autumn Silverware Series of cycling, including the infamous Gallipoli Cup.

The Gallipoli Cup, one of Auckland oldest and most sought after cycling trophies, will be held at Waiau Pa on Saturday 26 April 2025, with prize money generously sponsored by GMC Cycling.

The Trophy recognises the huge contribution and sacrifice that our servicemen and women made to the country in 2 World Wars, and subsequent conflicts..

2018 Gallipoli Cup race

Traditionally held on Anzac Day, it attracted riders from the far North through to Waikato-Bay of Plenty, with fields of 150+ on a regular basis. We’re planning for the 2025 event to have large fields again, as the penultimate event in the CMC autumn silverware series.

Being a Handicap race, all riders have an equal chance of success and taking home some prize money. Past winners have come from all groups, Limit (1st to start) and Scratch (last to start). Mark your diaries now for this premium Open race. Entries are open now and you can sign up here. Big thanks to Gordon MacAuley (a regular participant) and GMC Cycling.
