Saturday granted us with great sunshine with light winds for our annual Gallipoli Cup course and good racing accompanied it.

The winner of the race was number 24 (Enzo, a French visiting student), starting from the 17 minute group. Second (and Gallipoli Cup winner) was number 26 (Craig Malcolm), with third going to Gordy McCauley. All the first three were from the 17 minute group.
Fastest three riders came from the scratch group which were Steve Furminger achieving 1st, James Climo 2nd and Bernard Wind 3rd who all took home some prize money
Jaye Atkin was the fastest woman (and, alas, the only one in the race), and Jona Waters took the fastest U17.

Thankfully, we had no accidents or injuries at the event, the only negativities were through traffic management which caused a late start. Despite the setback, we sported some brilliant achievements so congratulations to everyone who took part.

Many thanks to Mike Giddey (help with hall) as well as Duncan and Mike Cornelius (mobile commissaires) and Ethan Verner (photography – for more photos from the day, click here). Additional thanks to Gordon McCauley and GMC for their support in helping make the event happen. Lastly, thank you to everyone who was present for observing our act of remembrance for the soldiers who fought in the World Wars.
